Management
Johannes Plass
and Heinrich Paravicini
The two graduate communication designers have been working together for more than 15 years. Despite different backgrounds and life paths, these two headstrong characters were brought together in 1994 by their shared fascination with innovative design. In that year, they turned an art college magazine into the avant-garde design magazine MUTABOR which is highly regarded to this day. In 1995, with their own office at the college and their first team of creative specialists in place, they were already working directly for clients such as BMW and large publishing houses. Even in those early days, they established contact with many international design colleges such as CalArts, Central St. Martins London and HFG Zurich via the magazine and won a number of design awards while still studying for their degrees.
In 1997, they completed their degree dissertation jointly for BMW’s central marketing department. Following brief interludes abroad and positions in Hamburg-based agencies, the two men decided to establish an agency under their brand name MUTABOR in 1998.
Each of them has his own strengths, whether in the strategic, analytical or creative process. Their concentrated brand know-how, together with their creative management, is what characterizes the agency’s successful work. They both have an absolute passion for design in all its creative varieties. They are fascinated by brands, products, architecture, fashion and film. This is also the reason why they combine all these creative disciplines within a single team in their agency. Together, they are pursuing the objective of making Mutabor THE brand for innovative brand design from Germany.
Today the two creative professionals run the agency in conjunction with Barbara Stolley-Rögels, commercial manager and executive with full power of attorney.
